    How to register an email address with iMessage? Whether it is your iPad or iPhone within a few simple steps, you can do it easily.

    If you are new to an iPhone, you should know about the fantastic iMessage features it has. It is the iPhone’s latest feature. This will allow you to send SMS and MMS free of cost to the other iOS device users. When you don’t want to use your phone number to send your iMessage, you can add an email address with your iMessage.

    The process of registering an email address with iMessage is very simple. Here we are going to give some tips that will help you to add an email address to your iMessage. Please read through the article.

    Most of the users register their iMessage with their Apple id. That makes the phone number or Apple ID email address as default to send messages. If your phone number is enabled for your iMessage, it is possible to add an email address and hide your phone number. You can use the email address to send and receive messages.

    Method 1: Register E-mail Address with Apple Id

    By this method, you can register an email address with your iMessage. You need to follow the steps below, and you will be able to add an email address to iMessage on your iPhone or iPad.

    The steps are as follows

    Step 1: At first, you open your iPhone Settings. There will show your Apple ID on the iPhone settings screen, tap on your Apple ID.

    Step 2: In this step, on the screen, there is an icon labeled as “Name, Phone Numbers, Email.” Tap on Name, Phone Numbers, email.

    Step 3: Then there is an edit option for email. Tap on the Edit email option on the screen.

    Step 4: After that, there will appear an option “Add Email or Phone Number”.

    Step 5: Then tap on “Add Email Address” which will lead you to a screen where you need to type the new email address that you want to register.

    Step 6: On the next step, type the new email address you wanted to register with your iMessage. Then tap on Next to confirm the email address. Then they will ask for a  verification code to enter.

    Step 7: After you confirm your email address, Apple will send a verification code via email to your email account. This Verification Code is sent for security purposes.

    Step 8: Open your email account; there will be a verification email. Tap on the mail and get the 6-digit verification code.

    Step 9: Enter the verification code from your email, verify your Email Address.

    Step 10: After you verify your email address, next go to your phone settings, then tap on “Message”, and then tap on  “Send and Receive”.

    Step 11: You can see the new email address that you have added.  This will be under the headline “You Can Be Reached By iMessage At.” Tap on the new email address if you want this address to send and receive your iMessage.

    Method 2: Register Email Address from Message Settings

    There is another method to register an email address to the iMessage.

    Step 1: At the very first step, open your iPhone’s settings. On the home screen of your phone, the settings icon’s appearance is a set of grey gears.

    Step 2: Scroll down the screen of the phone, then tap on “Messages” in the menu.

    Step 3: After tapping on the message menu, you will see the option “Send & Receive”. Tap on send and receive.

    Step 4: After that, there will appear a button labeled “Add an Email” under the title, “You can be reached by iMessage at”.  If you already saved an email address to receive iMessages, this button will be labeled as “Add Another Email”. Tap on “Add an Email/Add Another Email”. You need to type the new email address in the bar to register with your iMessage.

    Step 5: After entering the new mail address, tap on return. Now the new email will appear in the “Send and Receive” settings. The word “Verifying…” will appear to the right of the email address.

    Step 6: Scroll below you will see the heading “Start new conversations”  with the button “Add Another email”. Tap on the “Add Email” and enter that email address once again.

    Step 7: Then tap on return. Now you will be asked to sign in to your Apple Id to verify your email address. Tap on settings.

    Step 8: Now open a browser you preferred and log in to the email address you provided.

    Step 9: There is a verification email titled “Verify your email address” from Apple. Tap on it and open the email.

    Step 10: There is a link to verify your email address with the button “Verify Now” in the email. Tap on “Verify Now”.

    Step 11: The link will lead you to the Apple website. Here you will be asked to log in to your Apple ID account. Enter your Apple ID email and password. Then tap “Continue”.

    Step 12: There will appear a verification page that will indicate the email address you provided has been validated.

    Now you are ready to use the email address to send and receive iMessage. When you start a new conversation, the Message will send from your email address instead of your phone number
