What is the difference between HyperX Savage and Fury DDR3 RAM? The HyperX Savage Ram offers a more memory bus speed frequency range than that of the Fury DDR3. Wait there’s more to clear your doubt.

Now, when it comes to the best RAMs, Kington’s HyperX Savage and HyperX FURY are undoubtedly holding the leading positions in the list. And amid these memories, Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB kit comes in our catch to be the performing beast for both Intel and AMD.

However, here we will compare the DDR3 RAM of Savage and FURY memories. Let’s dive inside.

So, that is the basic difference between HyperX Savage and FURY. If you consider upgrading your system’s memory but still can’t decide which one to choose, let’s dig deeper to help you settle upon DDR3 RAM: Hyperx Savage or FURY?

We will distinguish one from another on the basis of the following key factors:

    • Memory Speed
    • Memory Capacity
    • CAS Latency
    • Compatibility
    • Performance
    • Pricing

    Let’s get started!

    Memory Speed

HyperX Savage DDR3 RAM comes in a wide range of high-performance speeds, from 1600MHz to 2400MHz frequencies. Available variations are 1600MHz, 1866MHz, 2133MHz, and 2400MHz.

On the other hand, the frequency range of a DDR3 HyperX FURY memory is 1600MHz to 1866MHz. The unique feature of the FURY memory is that it can auto-detect and overclock the memory to the highest frequency available.

    Memory Capacity

The sinHyperX Savage DDR3 RAM module is available in 4GB and 8GB capacity. But if you buy the Savage DDR3 RAM kits of 2 or 4, you can expand your memory capacity from 8GB up to 32GB.

Similarly, a single stick of HyperX FURY RAM has two varieties – 4GB and 8GB. A kit of 2 FURY DDR3 modules comes with capacities ranging from 8GB to 16GB.

    CAS Latency

The CAS latency of a RAM module is the number of RAM clock cycles it takes for the RAM to output data requested by the CPU. For example, a RAM kit with a CAS of 16 will complete this task in 16 RAM clock cycles. The less CAS latency there is, the better. When comparing CAS latency, however, other specifications such as RAM type and speed must be considered.

The HyperX Savage DDR3 memory comes with latencies between CL9 and CL11, whereas the FURY DDR3 memory is only available with a CAS latency of 10.

    Compatibility

The HyperX Savage memory is compatible with a wide range of chipsets, including H67, H97, P67, Z68, Z77, Z87, Z97, and H61 Intel chipsets. For AMD chipsets, it is compatible with A75, A87, A88, A89, A78, and E35.

    Similarly, HyperX FURY has been tested on all popular motherboard brands. Intel H61, H81, H87, H97, H170, Q87, Z87, Z97, Z170, X79, B85 and C602 chipsets, and AMD AM1, A55, A75, A78, A68H, A85X, A88X, 990FX, 990X and 970 chipsets, to mention a few.

    Performance

Now, let’s shed light on the ultimate concern – the performance of HyperX DDR3 Savage vs FURY.

By enabling Intel’s XMP tool, users can achieve higher-performing frequencies, timings, and voltages with HyperX Savage’s built-in XMP profiles.

It’s perfect for workstations and high-performance gaming systems, as well as gaming while streaming. The HyperX Savage DDR3 is best suited for overall ultra-responsive multitasking and cutting down on workload times.

While the Savage DDR3 RAM provides an overall faster system, the FURY DDR3 RAM also performs well, allowing the PC to handle multitasking, 4K video editing, 3D rendering, and other tasks as well. Besides supporting Intel’s 100 Series chipset, it improves a PC’s performance and cuts the boot-up time by more than a minute.

    Pricing

Needless to say, the price of both the RAM differs as per their configuration. But when it comes to FURY vs Savage DDR3, we can’t say that Savage DDR3 is a high-priced product, but FURY DDR3 is known as the ultimate budget killer.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is HyperX FURY DDR3 RAM good?

HyperX FURY DDR3 RAM is great for entry-level gamers and content creators because it automatically overclocks itself up to 1866MHzHyperX FURY DDR3 RAM runs at voltages as low as 1.35V, increasing the efficiency. Moreover, it comes within an affordable price range.

Is HyperX FURY 8GB RAM good?

Because it automatically overclocks to 1866MHz, HyperX FURY DDR3 8GB RAM is ideal for entry-level gamers and content creators. It works with both Intel and AMD processors. HyperX FURY DDR3 RAM has voltages as low as 1.35V, which improves efficiency. Furthermore, it is available at a budget price.

Is HyperX FURY RAM compatible with Ryzen?

The HyperX FURY DDR4 RAM is compatible with Ryzen. With decently boosted RAM speeds and a low price, the HyperX FURY RAM is one of the best budget RAM kits. Except for Ryzen 3 2200G, it may not be ideal for Ryzen APU builds, especially the higher-end APUs. However, this should be an excellent companion for Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 CPUs for non-APU builds.

Which HyperX RAM Series Is for You?

Undoubtedly, both HyperX Savage and FURY DDR3 RAMs are top-hole memory products that are backed by a lifetime warranty, free technical support. With these RAMs installed, even noobs can overclock their platforms with faster speeds and higher capacities, eliminating the need for manual adjustments in BIOS.

But, when it is time to pick one between the HyperX Savage vs Fury DDR3, we should take our requirements into account i,e. for which task we are using our systems.

16GB to 32GB of RAM should suffice if you are putting together a gaming system. If you are putting together in a system for production work, 32GB is recommended.

So, taking the capacity and other specifications into consideration, if a user is building a high-end computer for gaming, gaming while streaming, video editing, or graphics design, the HyperX Savage is the best choice.

Currently, 16GB of RAM is the standard for a mainstream computer. 8GB of RAM is also a good option for those on a tight budget.

It’s better to choose 4GB of RAM if you intend to build a basic computer for general use, such as browsing the web, word processing, and watching videos. So, not only for your daily workloads but also if you are an entry-level gamer or content creator with a limited budget, the HyperX FURY DDR3 RAM would be the best option for you.
